Fulda Bird Scene Saucer

This is a superb saucer made by Fulda in the 18th century. Fulda was founded by Prince Abbot Heinrich VIII von Bibra zu Fulda in 1764. The factory closed its doors after a short existence in 1789. The figures of Fulda are probably the most expensive pieces of German porcelain one can own but it is rare to find any pieces by this maker as they only made porcelain for a few years. The saucer is marked with their underglaze blue cross mark as well as an impressed 1. The piece is handpainted with nice ploychrome bird scene including two birds in a landscape surrounding as well as a nice gold trim. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with a little wear to the gilding and one circular spot by the puce bird that is either staining or some sort of flaw but it isn't distracting at all.
