Fulda Superb Scenic Saucer #1

This is a superb and very rare saucer made by Fulda in the 18th century. Fulda was founded by Prince Abbot Heinrich VIII von Bibra zu Fulda in 1764. The factory closed its doors after a short existence in 1789. The figures of Fulda are probably the most expensive pieces of German porcelain one can own but it is rare to find any pieces by this maker as they only made porcelain for a few years. The saucer is marked with the underglaze blue FF mark under the crown and an impressed I (I think) and A. The piece is hand painted with nice polychrome scene filling the entire center and a simple gold trim to the edge. It is one of the nicest scenes I ahve seen by them! The scene includes a ruin with a circle in the center - half of which has a tree painted in it and the other half a jumping deer which is easier to make out if you turn it 90 degrees. It might be a reference to an armorial but I am not sure. Another thing that struck me is an area in the hills in the background that very much looks like a signature to me but I cannot make it out even with a magnifying glass. I am quite certain it is a signature though. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. It is in superb condition with just a touch of wear and a few small black firing spots. Definitely a rare and interesting piece! Please email me for more information or photos.
