Fulda Strawflower Pot

This is a very rare coffee pot and its lid made by Fulda. Fulda was founded by Prince Abbot Heinrich VIII von Bibra zu Fulda in 1764. The factory closed its doors after a short existence in 1789 and it is rare to find any pieces by this maker as they only made porcelain for a few years. This pot was shown to the Fulda museum and they would ahve loved to have it but they have no funds at all and wanted it as a gift. The pot is marked with the underglaze blue FF mark under the crown and an incised 1A and dates to the early years of this maker. The piece is handpainted with the popular underglaze blue strawflower pattern which was meant to be used and thus survivors are quite rare. The handle has a nice shape to is and the spout has some superb relief design to it. The pot and lid are 8.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter. They are in great condition with one spot on the lid edge, one spot on the top edge and one spot on the footring having been restored. None seem to have been too major and it displays just fine! Please email me for more information or photos.
