Figural Piggy Bank

This is a fun figural piggy bank. It is definitely in the style of the French makers like Jean Gille or Vion & Baury but I am unsure who made it or when. It seems 20th century to me. Either way a fun way for your kids to start saving money. All of my kids have unique piggy banks like this and they love them! The piece is of a dentleman sitting on top of a keg / barrel with some carpentry tools next to it on the base. The piece is very well modeled and hand painted. Unglazed porcelain typical for these French makers around the mid to late 19th century. The figure is not marked underneath so that is of no help. There is an old rubber stopper to the udnerside to help keep the coins in place. Not sure if that is original to the piece but it doesn't really matter much. The figurine is in great condition. A little bit of wear but no real damage. The piece is 9.75 inches tall with a base diameter of 5.125 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
