German Prussia & Saxony Armorial Cup & Saucer

This is an unusual cup and saucer made in Germany in the mid to late 19th century I would say. Unusual in that it is not marked by a maker and that the armorial should have been found on a more high end maker like KPM or Meissen. Definitely a fun piece with botht he cup and the saucer having a green ground color with some gold trim. The well of the saucer was left white and the inside of the cup has a gold trim to it but the best part is certainly that hand painted armorial on the front of the cup. It includes the coat of arms from Prussia as well as Saxony with a crown above them. It is a good quality painting for sure but I have no idea of the purpose of the piece. Maybe a high end wedding? An interesting piece for sure! Neither piece is marked as to the maker's mark but they do ahve some impressed numbers typical of German makers. Gotha and Schney both used numbers like this in the 19th century. And both I ahve seen without their main mark so it might be by one of them. The cup is 2 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.5 inches. Both pieces are in superb condition with some very minor wear to the gold trim. Please email me for more information or photos.
