Baby Needle Case

This is a rare figural needle case in the shape of a swadelled baby made in Germany in the late 18th to early 19th century I would venture to guess. It is nicely handpainted with a neat design and the face is cute as well. The lid is made of some kind of metal - the inside looks silver to me but the outside more golden - maybe silver plated that has worn off outside? There is a number 913 on the inside lid that someone wrote there - not sure of the meaning. The inside of the case is marked with an underglaze blue mark but it is so faint there is no way to tell who made i t anymore. It might be from the Thuringia area of Germany where a few of these were made but might also be by another maker. The piece is in good condition with a chip to the nose and a lot of the gilding has worn off on the hat. It displays very nicely! The needle case is 2.75 inches tall and about 0.75 inches wide. Please email me for more information or photos.
