Lady w/ Snake Scene Pipe

This is a fun porcelain pipe bowl definitely made in Germany and quite likely in the Thuringia area by one of the top makers in the early 19th century. It is hand painted with nicely detailed scene of a lady holding out a bowl towards a snake that is coming up a small column with a bit of a landscape around the bottom part and light clouds in the background. The porcelain is in superb condition with a tiny bit of wear to the gilding of the little knob that sticks out the front and a firing issue near that were the glaze didn't take - looks kind of like a shallow firing crack. The lid has a tiny bit of oxidation but nothing bad at all and could easily be cleaned up back to it's original shiny self. The pipe has been heavily smoked but I cleaned the worst of it out on the inside. The lid which is very detailed as I tried to show in the pictures and it is held in place in a very neat way which shows us that it is a very early example. I have only ever seen that once before on a dated pipe I owned from about 1817 so I would date this to the same time period. The porcelain piece is 4.375 inches tall with the metal lid being about 0.625 inches. The widest diameter is about 1.5 inches and the bottom diameter is about 0.375 inches. It is unmarked which is a bummer but it is very common. Just makes it hard to ID the exact maker. Please email me for more information or photos.
