Magdalene Scenic Plaque

This is a nice porcelain plaque made in Germany in the mid to late 19th century. It is hand painted with a very detailed scene of a semi nude lady with one breast exposed wearing a blue robe while lying on the ground reading a book that is leaning on a fallen over skull - a rendition of the penitent Magdalene after Correggio . Some grases near the skull and to the front of her and a small tree in the rocks above her. All hand painted and not aprtially printed as so many more modern peices are that don't come close to the quality of these earlier pieces. The plaque is in great condition with a bit of paint wear to the very edge from where it used to be in some sort of frame. If you framed it again it would be invisible and even as is it displays perfectly. The piece is 6.75 inches wide and 5 inches tall so a nice size! It is not marked but certainly of German origin. A superb and elegant piece! Please email me for more information or photos.
