Scenic Cup & Saucer w/ Words #2

This is a nice scenic cup and saucer made in Germany in the early 19th century. Most likely in the Thuringia area of Germany or possibly by Schlaggenwald or Schney since the other set I have for sale has an incised S under both pieces. The style is very much copied from the French Paris area pieces one finds much more often. The cup and saucer each have a hand painted scene to them including the word Aus on the cup and Freunde on the saucer which combined says Aus Freunde ( Out friends ) which doesn't make much sense to me and seems to mean these two pieces didn't start their life together but are a marriage but from the same service. A bit of gold trim to each piece makes this a very nice set! Nicely painted but not as nice as the top makers. Still lots of charm and since both pieces are in great condition with just some minor wear to the gilding, a small paint flake to the scene of the saucer and some typical small firing flaws as well as a hairline across the handle of the cup as shown. Definitely still worth owning! The set here is unmarked but like I said before the other set I own is marked with an incised S. The cup is just a bit over 2.25 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 4.75 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.
