Sepia Scene Plate #4

This is a plate probably made by one of the Thuringia makers like Gotha or a maker like Althaldensleben around the early 19th century. It is handpainted with a very detailed scene of Burg Weinberg which is located in Oberoestereich ( somewhere towards northern Austria) in mostly brown tones. The castle is in the center of a landscape scene with lots of trees, two other buildings and a lady sitting on top of a hay wagon pulled by two oxen with the farmer walking behind it on a road. I love these old plates with scenes on them as it gives you a glimpse into the way things used to be! The plate is of great quality and has a nice gold rim. It is in super condition with a tiny bit of wear. It is marked underneath the scene with the title Burg Weinberg (with the ei wworn away). I own Gotha plates that are not marked from this time period but it might be another maker similar to them as well. The plate is 1 inch tall and 7.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
