Wallendorf Lidded Tea Caddy

This is a porcelain tea caddy / jar with its original lid made by Wallendorf of Germany in the 18th century. The pot is hand painted with the famous strawflower design or Strohblumen motif and has the typical ribbed design to the paste. This was a popular design back then and still today and used by many makers at some point. The pot is marked on the top rim which is hidden by the lid when it is in place with a under glaze blue W that looks more like an M in this position. The teacaddy It is in great condition with small chip to the edge of the lid as shown which is glazed over from the making. A nice early piece! The caddy with the lid in place is 4.75 inches tall, 2.875 inches wide and just under 2 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
