Chinoiserie Tea Caddy

This is an interesting tea caddy / jar that I could never quite figure out. It was likely made in Germany in the later 19th century. The piece has a superb hexagonal shape to the main body with each side being hand painted with a different Chinoiserie scene - three ladies and three gentleman doing different things in a landscape surrounding. The edges around the scenes are highlighted with a thick gold band. The lid matches the piece in terms of shape and looks superb. It's a stunning looking piece! The main body and lid are 5.25 inches tall with a max diameter of about 3.25 inches. The main body is in great condition with one spot on top rim having been restored perfectly. The lid has had the finial restored back on and some damage to the edge as well. Perfect job as well and they display superbly together. The piece is marked with an under glaze blue cross type mark as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
