Young Man on Sled Figurine

This is a nice figurine made in Germany in the late 19th century or early 20th century. These pieces are often attributed to the French copy artist Samson but I believe it is much more likely it was made by the German maker Bock Wallendorf or Carl Thieme / Passau all of which are very well known to have used many of the 18th century marks on their pieces to try to fool collectors. Either way it is a really fun figure of a young gentleman sitting on a sled. He is dressed for the winter with a fur hat and fur coat and is transporting some wood on his sled. Axe in his right hand. Leaf garland over his shoulder. The sled is sitting on a nice base with some relief scrolls to the outside highlighted with gilding. The figure is in perfect condition which is always a bonus. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue CC mark originally used by Ludwigsburg in the 18th century but definitely not that old or by this maker. Also some old museum ID. They probably figured out it was not an original and got rid of it from their collection. It really is a nice figurine though even if not that old. The figurine is 5.25 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
