Reinhardsbrunn Scenic Saucer

This is a saucer made by Gotha in the early 19th century. The piece has a polychrome hand painted scene in the center of a building by a lake with a nice landscape around it including fantastic trees. It shows why Gotha is the best of the Thuringia makers! The rectangular scene is surrounded by a black and gold frame and is signed under it Reinhardsbrunn in black. The rim of the saucer also has a gold trim to it. The piece is in great condition with a little wear - mainly to the gold trim around the scene and the name as shown. A very small flat chip to the outside with black staining near it - not sure if it is from the making or later but it does not take away from the piece! The saucer is marked underneath with the script black Gotha mark they used during this period. The saucer is 5.125 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches tall.
