Gotha Scenic Plate #5

This is a great plate made by Gotha in the mid 19th century. Gotha is probably the best of the Thuringia makers in terms of quality of the paste and painting. They existed from 1757 until 1937 in one form or another. This plate is hand painted with a superb quality large scene in the center as well as some nice gold trim. This one is not titled so I am unsure of the town that is pictured. The scene is superb and quite large. The plate is in great condition with some wear to the outer gold trim as shown. It is marked underneath with the impressed mark of a hen on a hill in an oval. Also an impressed 3. The plate is 7.75 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. Please email me for more information or photos.
