Boy with Fruit Figurine

This is a figurine made by Höchst in the 18th century. It is of a gentleman that is holding a black bowl filled with apples in his hands. He is well dressed and is standing on a typical grass base with a little tree stump in the back. A fun piece and very typical for this maker! He was modeled by Melchior one of the best artists in porcelain of the 18th century! The figure is about 4.5 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue wheel mark with the crown above as well as an incised R as shown. The figurine is in good condition with some minor chips to the leaves of the fruit, a chip to the bottom edge of the coat, the bows on his pants are chipped and some enamel flaking to the black bowl and on the base some of which was filled in with color. He displays beautifully! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
