Pair of Shepherds

This is a large figurine made by Hoechst in about 1770. It is called the adorned hat and was designed by Melchior. It is of a man behind a lady holding a hat with a dog in front and a sheep besides them. Painted in the typical colors of the time. The figure is in great condition with two chips to the base, one chip to the top of the tree, the handle of the basket is missing, the ears of the sheep have chips and the bow on his staff is chipped. All minor things really. It is marked with the underglaze blue wheel mark with the little circle in the center as well as incised N46 and S 27 M. The piece is about 7.5 inches tall, 9.875 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
