Hoechst Resting Putto

This is a figurine made by Höchst in the 18th century. It is of a putto - possibly Amor resting on a blanket lying on top of the typical rock and grass base. A nicely modeled figure that has a different pose from most and looks stunning on display! He was modeled by Melchior one of the best artists in porcelain of the 18th century! The piece is hand painted to perfection! It is about 2.875 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide and 5.375 inches long. Marked underneath with the blue wheel mark as shown. The figurine is in good condition with some tiny nibbles along the base edge rim and the end piece by his feet has been restored and has changed color over time so it could use a little refresher. It does display superbly as is! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
