Rabbit Figurine

This is a fun figurine made by Hoechst towards their end in about 1790. I also have the Damm earthenware piece that copied this original Hochst one on the site which is always nice to see to learn a bit. This figurine is of a couple holding a rabbit which was made into a guinea pig in the Dammversion. Nicely modeled with more detail than the later copies with her holding a hat under her arm. The piece is 5.5 inches tall and marked underneath with the underglaze blue wheel mark and the letter S incised. Perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
