Puce People Scene Cup & Saucer #1

This is a cup and saucer made by a Hoechst in the 18th century. Both pieces are hand painted with a nice puce scene of a gentleman sitting near a barrel used as a table for his wine in one case and beer in the other :) My type of scene! A bit of a landscape around him including greenery and a building in the case of the saucer. There is also a small flower to the saucer and two to the cup and some small bugs to hide firing flaws. A green twig to the inside of the cup. Gold trim to the edge, puce trim to the handle of the cup and a nice puce trim with green and yellow designs to the top rim of both. A nice set that is in great condition with very light touch of wear mainly to the gold trim of the cup and a really flaw chip to the underside edge of the saucer that does not affect it when on display at all. Both pieces are marked with the under glaze blue wheel mark as shown with the cup also haveing an impressed 1 and W. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 1.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 4.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
