Candlestick #2

This is a superb and rather rare candle holder made by Hoechst during their early years in the 18th century around 1760. The candlestick has a superb shape and size to it and is hand painted with lots of flowers as well as gold trim and a puce and aqua trim design. I have another matching one that was sold as its mate but the flowers on this one here are larger and fill the white areas out more and the trim colors are in a different order to it so I think it is a match be it a very very good one rather than a true pair. The piece is in amazing condition considering its nature and age with very minimal wear to the gilding and some staining and firing marks to the top edge and inside as well as one tiny glaze flake to the bottom edge and a missed glazed area on the bottom edge. The candleholder is about 9.5 inches tall with a bottom diameter of about 5.75 inches and a top inner diameter of just over an inch. The stick is marked underneath with the early red wheel mark as well as the incised letter HI. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
