Floral Soup Plate

This is a plate made by Hoechst in about 1750. It is handpainted with a large floral arrangement in the center as well as lots of smaller flowers scattered throughout and a brown trim to the edge. Nice shape to the porcelain as well. The plate is in superb condition with three small spots of green paint flaking off leaves. One of them was overpainted a bit to hide it. The green paint flaking is a common problem on 18th century porcelain - not sure what it was with the green but all makers had the same issue on their early wares! Displays perfectly! It is marked underneath with the above glaze red wheel mark with eight spokes as well as an incised C 3 or something along those lines. The plate is 1.625 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter.
