Hoechst Sleeping Cupid

This is a figurine made by Höchst in the 18th century of a putto - likely Cupid / Amor sleeping on a blanket lying on top of the typical rock and grass base with his quiver by his side. A nicely modeled figure that has a different pose from most and looks stunning on display! He was modeled by Melchior one of the best artists in porcelain of the 18th century! The piece is hand painted to perfection! It is about 2.625 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 5.625 inches long. Marked underneath with the blue wheel mark as shown. The figurine is in good condition with an old restoration to his right foot where the toe has come off again and the quiver is damaged with the strings that would hold it onto his back almost completely gone. The figure does display superbly as is! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
