Square Planter #2

This is a great square vase / planter / flower pot / jadiniere / bulb / bought pot made by Hoechst in the 18th century. It is hand painted with a flower arrangement to each side in a small raised panel, has a nice raised trim along the edges and four pine cone finials to the top corners painted in turquoise. It sits on four white round feet. The flowers are superbly done and just stunnng. There is one leaf on one side painted to hide a flaw in the paste. The piece is in good condition with some firing flaws (like firing cracks and tiny black spots) common to these early pieces and two of the pine cone finial have been off and someone started to repair them but they were never painted and have since yellowed big time and need to be redone. Not a very difficult job for a restorer but it definitely should be done. Some staining to the inside bottom from use. It does have five drainage holes in the bottom of the inside as shown original to the piece. It is marked underneath with an under glaze blue wheel mark as well as some incised letters as shown. The planter is 4.5 inches tall and about 3.25 inches on each side. I have a matching second planter that is perfect up on the site. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
