Höchst Venus

This is a figurine made by Höchst around 1769. It matches the Damm piece on my website which is a neat thing for a side by side comparison! This is a figurine of the goddess venus. She is based on an old Nymphenburg Bustelli model and sits on a cloud. She is 5.5 inches tall. Marked underneath with the small red wheel mark as well as the incised letters LI. She is in great condition with her right leg restored, a chip to the base, the tip of the pinky on her right hand is missing, and the doves are missing on the cloud next to her. On a side note - an intersting thing is that the red wheel mark was supposed to have only been used until 1765 yet this figurine was not created until 1769 and thus it proves the red wheel mark was used at least until 1769. Something new for the books. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
