Housel Reticulated Basket

This is a really nice reticulated basket made by Rue Thiroux aka Frabrique de la Reine which had the patronage of the famous Marie Antoinette in the 18th century - after 1784. The piece is nicely modeled with the high sides being reticulated and decorated with lots of gilding to the outside. A fully gilded handle to either side but the best part is the ring of hand painted pink roses around the bottom inside with gilding filling in the rest of the bottom. A really nice looking piece and a rare survivor being in superb condition! There is a firing flaw on the edge of the bottom inside painted over by a rose bud and some super minor use marks but definitely as good as they come! The basket is 3 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter. Marked on the underside with the gold housel mark one does not see very often! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
