Hutschenreuther Ballerina / Dancer Figurine

This is a superb porcelain figure of a ballerina / dancer made by Hutschenreuther between 1955 and 1968. The figurine was superbly modeled by Karl Tutter a bit earlier and is one of my favorite peices by this maker. This is the painted version but there is also a blan de chine one out there. The peice is of a ballet dancer and is titled "Finale" which means final as in the end of a performance. The movement of this piece is incredible with one arm in front of her and the other above her head - all five fingers on each hand nicely sculpted. She is wearing a fairly skimpy dress with yellow and purple colors to it. One lef is stretched backwards while the other is underneath with the feet perfectly done. Her chest has the nipples rather accentuated which provides the peice with a bit of an erotic undertone. The flowing hair is a nice addition as well. Like I said it's a great piece and my favorite by them. Tutter did quite a few pieces for different makers and this piece here is a really good example of how amazing a modeler he was! The figurine is in perfect condition which is nice since the fingers are rather easily damaged. It's nice to have a perfect painted version of this figure! She is 11.75 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 11.375 inches long. Marked underneath with the green Hutschenreuther lion mark, the painter's monogramm RH as well as the artist name impressed as shown.
