Hutschenreuther Lamp

This is a porcelain figural lamp made by Hutschenreuther between 1916 and 1938. The piece is of a pipe player / Jester / Harlequin type figure in the Art Deco style possibly supposed to be the pied piper from Hamelin . The figurine is superbly modeled and sparingly painted with turquoise highlights with a gild flute and buttons standing on a base highlighted with gold scrolls with a tree stump in the back that has some little branches and some leaves around the top. The lamp part is coming out of the top of the tree. This piece was always meant to be a lamp and was not converted! A stunning and fun piece that is very well modelled. The figurine is in great condition with the end of the pipe and the bottom hand having some superb restoration to them. A little wear to the gilding around the base. Underneath a piece of the inner ring was ground down to hold the metal parts in place better. The figure displays perfectly! The cord to the socket was completely cut and needs to be redone but that is to be expected. The top easily unscrews to get to it! The porcelain is marked underneath with the green mark of a lion, etc. as shown in the pictures. Also a partial old paper labels is still present. The entire piece is 12.5 inches tall with the porcelain being 9.25 inches tall. The base has a diameter of about 4.75 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.
