Jacob Petit Superb Vase

This is a really superb vase made by Jacob Petiti of the Paris region of France in the early 19th century. One of the nicest pieces in this style I have come across. It has an oval shape to the top with the top part looking like a medieval tower. It has a green ground color to the top with lots of raised gold trim to it and a floral arrangement on white ground to the front and back and arange and blue "jewels" to either side. That part is held up by two back to back swan figurines with lots of details to them in a salmon gorund color with gold details. This all sits on a black rectangualar base with scrolls to the bottom. The black ground has orange and blue jewel looking circles to it and more raised gold trim. It really is a stunning piece! The vase is in good condition with obviously some gold wear common to these peices but it's not bad at all - the swan's heads and neck being the worst. The beak of one of the swans is missing and there is chipping to the scroll elemaent in the center bottom edge of the base on one side only. Colored in to hide very well. The piece displays nicly and is as fancy as they come. Only issue I would even fix is the swan's beak. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue J.P. mark as shown. The entire piece is 9.875 inches tall, 6.625 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
