Jacob Petit Tiger Figurine

This is a superb porcelain figurine of a tiger made by Jacob Petit of the Paris region in France in the early 19th century. It is of a tiger lounging on a nice base meant to look like greenery. This figurine is rare as it is mostly depicted as a leopard but here we have a tiger. Nicely modeled and hand painted really nicely. A great figure that you won't find again anytime soon. The piece is in superb condition with just a touch of wear to an area on the front edge of the base as shown and some very minor nibbles to the base edge. It displays perfectly! The underside of the base is marked with his under glaze blue J.P. mark as shown plus there are a couple old stickers underneath as well. The figurine is 2.625 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
