Koblenz Scenic Cup

This is a superb scenic cup made in Germany in the early 19th century. I have two other cup - one with a fantastic armorial and one with a similar scene by the same maker but I cannot figure out who it is. They are similar to Nymphenburg pieces I own but not the same plus they always seem to be unmarked. Definitely German from this time period. The cup is hand painted with a scene of the city of Coblenz which is now spelled Koblenz including the fort (Festung) Ehrenbreitstein and the Pfaffendorf bridge which is the oldest bridge over the river Rhein in Germany. You can look up the city of Koblenz online - it is still there and looks fairly similar. The quality of the painting is superb. The cup also has a nice gold trim and a figural handle though I am not sure it is supposed to be - looks like a birds head. The cup is unmarked except for the name of the scene in black script underneath. It is 2.875 inches tall (plus the handle which adds an inch) and 3.25 inches in diameter. It is in superb condition with just an extremely minor touch of wear to the gilding. As nice as they come! Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $599
