Dolphin Handle Floral Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer made by KPM between 1823 and 1832. It is hand painted with simple yet very elegant single flower in the center of the saucer and a band of flowers around the center of the cup. The rest of both pieces is decorated with a light pinkish ground color with a ncie gold design on top of that and some wide gold bands along the edge. The top inside of the cup is also gilded. My favorite part however is handle shape which looks like a dolphin which is pretty rare. The set is in superb condition - no chips, etc. and just some very minor wear to the gilding. Both pieces display perfectly! The cup is 3 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as an impressed number, a line mark next to the scepter for a painter's mark and the rare red eagle mark used to show that it was painted by KPM before they started using the red orb mark. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
