Strawflower Leaf Dish

This is a nice leaf dish made by KPM in the 19th century. Having a tough time actually pinpointing a more exact date. On blue wares they did not use the orb mark till much later. I would date them to the 1830s. Eeither way it is nicely hand painted with their strawflower pattern in under glaze blue with the main floral arrangement in the center, a butterfly above that and a floral garland around the edge over a ribbed design to the paste. Nice branch shaped handle with blue highlightes and applied leaves and a flower to the terminal. The butterfly and the handle are my favorite part of the design! The dish is in perfect condition. It is 1.5 inches tall without the handle and 2.125 inches with the handle, 7 inches wide and 9.25 inches long including the handle. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as shown, a blue letter v. as the blue painter's mark and an impressed letter V over 2. A spot near the mark is ground down which was either a flaw to the paste or a firing support. Hard to tell. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
