19thC Angel Scene Plate

This is a nice plate made by KPM in about 1870. This style was only used around this period and I think it was called Historism revival but it looks to have followed more the Italian majolica if you ask me. It was a popular way of painting for a short period and looks stunning on the wall! Still very popular with collectors these days. This plate shows two cherubs / angels in the clouds covering the entire center with a floral design to the rim and a brown trim to the edge. The underside is also entierely painted with a greyish uneven color. Common on this type of painting. The plate is in perfect condition which is really nice! It is 1.375 inches tall and has a diameter of 9.75 inches. It comes with an attached metal hanger to hang it on the wall easily. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue circular "penny" mark with the scepter above it but the mark was covered with a flower. Something one sees often on this style of painting. It also has the usual impressed numbers of the period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
