Rare Art Nouveau Box

This is a very unusual lidded porcelain patch / jewelry / powder box (or whatever you like it to be used for) made in the Art Nouveau period by KPM in the early 20th century during WWI. I have never seen this model before nor can I find it when looking around my books and online. It is a fairly large piece in a quatrefoil or clover leaf shape that comes in two pieces with the lid having a superb relieaf scene in unglzed biscuit porcelain of Amor / Eros / Cupid with a bow in one hand, two hearts scewered on an arrow in the other hand while standing in a basket filled with flowers. The scene is surrounded by a raised dot line that is gilded. The edge of the lid has a gold trim all around interrupted by little floral arragenments. Really quite cute! The main body Has a double gold line trim all around with the same little floral arrangements to it with the addition to leaf branches as well as four ovals with a green scale design to them, flowers to the top and bottom and branches with leaves all around. A stunning piece that is quite unusual. It comes with a large pink powder puff that I doubt is original to the piece but fits nicely so I left it. Great size to use unlike many boxes! It is 5.625 inches wide and deep as well as 3.25 inches tall. The box is marked on the underside with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb mark as well as their black iron cross only used during the period of World War I plus some painter's marks ,etc. as shown. The box is in perfect condition. The lid does not fit perfectly in terms of the shape which might explain why I ahve never seen this model before. It would have been hard to fire the lid for this box to match the bottom perfectly. It is the original lid for sure! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
