Large Bird Scene Oval Tureen

This is an amazing large oval tureen made by KPM around 1780. The two tureens are the nicest ones I have owned or even have seen by them from this period. The bottom part has two superb and very large (covering the entire sides) handpainted bird scenes on it, two very detailed handles, six very detailed butterflies and the rim has a nice raised design highlighted by gilding which finishes off the perfect look! The lid also has two very large bird scenes on it, the same type of handle on top, 5 butterflies and the gild design to the rim. The quality is top notch and it is in as perfect a condition as one would hope for - just some very minimal wear to the gilding where some idiot taped the lid to the bottom. One handle has a rough spot on one of the gold berries where it must have scraped against something but it is minor. The bottom part is marked underneath with the scepter in underglaze blue and three impressed lines on the footring. The piece including its lid is 10 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 9.5 inches deep.
