Butter Serving Spoon

This is an extremely rare serving spoon for butter made by KPM in the 18th century. In German it is called a Butterstecher - not sure of the proper English name possibly butter taster but not sure. The spoon has a superbly shaped handle with some gilding and green highlights on it as well as two butterflies to the front and three to the back. The front part of the spoon has a ribbed design to the front and the back with the front having the bird scene painted on it and the back has three more butterflies. A nice leaf design where the stem and bowl connect. The piece is not marked underneath but that is normal with this type of item. It is in amazing condition with a teeny little chip to the edge that is very difficult to spot. It displays perfectly and is just amazing! The spoon is 6.375 inches long with the bowl part being 1.875 inches long, 1.75 inches wide and 0.875 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
