Pair of Bird Scene Serving Spoons

This is a pair of serving spoons made by KPM around 1780. Each has three butterflies painted to the inside of the bowl part, the stem is nciely modeled and painted in green shades but the best part is the underside of the bowl - it has leaves growing on it from the stem and there is a bird scene handpainted on it just like all the other pieces from this set have and the same gold trim as well. Really quite nice. Sadly these are not in good condition but at least they are here - one displays nicely but the bowl and stem have broken apart right where they connected and ahve been reglued with a small piece missing from the underside as shown. The other spoon is in bad shape - the stem was broken towards the back and it broke off the bowl and too part of the end of that with it and into pieces. A bad retoration job has only made it look worse but it too could be properly fixed! The all important bird scene and butterflies are unharmed. Neither of the pieces is marked underneath but that is normal with spoons. The spoons are 7.75 inches long with the bowl part being 2.875 inches long, 1.875 inches wide and 1 inch deep.
