Kaiser Wilhelm IV Royal Plate #1

This is a rare royal plate made by KPM in the 19th century around 1855. It has the cypher of King Wilhelm the 4th on the back so it once belonged to him / the royal household. Nice provenance for sure! Imagine all the famous people that hae eaten of this piece! It is hand painted with a superb center decoration of a basket that has fallen over and spilled flowers that were inside on some grass with some larger roses coming out from behind a rock with two butterflies fluttering around the flowers. The rim has a ring of morning glory flowers to it and a gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. The plate displays superbly though it has had a flat chip to the underside edge ground smooth to hide it well and there is a bit of stacking wear to the white area of the edge of the well and some wear to the gilding typical of these pieces. None of it affect the piece much and it looks great on display! The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter with the circular penny mark under it as well as the red orb, the usual impressed marks and the royal cypher in puce as shown. A great plate with a nice history to it! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
