Fruit Scene Knife & Fork Set #2

This is a really nice knife and fork set made by KPM in the 18th century. Each handle has two hand painted floral and fruit arrangements to them in the typical style of KPM as well as a smaller single flower and a relief design to the end near the ferrule highlighted with puce. A very typical design for this maker. The design is called Koenigsglatt I believe. The metal parts are original and are likely gold washed silver but they are not marked so not sure of the metal underneath the gold wash. The metal parts do not go all the way through to the end of the porcelain which is common to some makers early on but these are certainly made by KPM around this time period. The set is in great condition with a very minor touch of wear. They display perfectly. I have 4 more of these sets if anyone is interested in a few. The fork is 8 inches long of which 3.375 inches is the length of the visible porcelain handle. The knife is 9.75 inches long of which 3.5 inches is the length of the visible porcelain handle. The handles are about 0.75 inches wide. The porcelain is not marked or shall we say visibly marked since it would be hidden by the ferrule if it were to be marked which is normal. My daughter always asks why the tines on the fork of these old pieces are so much sharper / pointier than modern one :) Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
