White & Gold Design Cup & Saucer #3

This is a cup and saucer made by KPM in the mid 19th century . The design remind me of the Grecque Athena Service made by Fuerstenberg but here we have an earlier KPM design. The set is decorated with a white and gold design that is quite nice. Sort of like a fan shaped or arch design with the handle in the shape of the earlier swan handles without the detail. The cup is still influenced by the earlier Biedermeier period. A great cup & saucer from its original period. Both pieces are in great condition with just some very minor wear/use marks mainly to the saucer and a tiny white spot to the top of the handle. The set displays perfectly! The saucer is 1 inch tall and just over 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.875 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter at the top. The saucer is marked with the so called penny mark with the scepter above it used during the period of 1849 until 1970 and the cup has just the penny mark used from 1847 until 1849. The combo would date this set right to 1849. Both also have the red orb mark as well as some other marks as shown. I also have quite a few other pieces from this service up for sale on the site. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $179
