Imari Design Plate #1

This is a rare plate made by KPM in the mid 19th century. It has a very unsual decoration to it for this maker - much more common on Asian porcelain but during this time it became popular for a short period and can be found once in a while on KPM pieces. The plate is hand painted with a very nice Imari style decoration using mostly gold, red and blue colors with a touch of black as well. Even the underside rim has been painted which one rarely ever sees on German porcelain. It looks amazing and like I said it's quite unusual. The plate is in superb condition with some extremely minor use marks. As close to perfect as one could find. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and just under 9.25 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark over the round "penny" mark as well as the red orb and the usual impressed marks as shown.
