Inkwell & Pounce Pot

This is a rare inkwell and sander made by KPM around 1780. These would have been part of a larger desk set most likely but work alone as well. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. Both pieces are hand painted with two nice floral arrangements as well as two smaller flowers on the sides, four tiny flowers to the top corners and the pounce pot has a nice fruit finial to the top center. I have not come across a set like this before so it was a msut have. They are in good condition with each peice having some tiny corner chips and sadly the lid of the inkwell is missing. Some staining to the inside of the inkwell and the fruit finial has a white spot to the top that I am not sure is original but might be. The two are 1.25 inches tall and 1.5 inches on each side. Each is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as some incised lines which are a size indication. These are probably the smallest version available as they are quite cute. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
