King Wilhelm IV Flower Basket Plate

This is a great plate made by KPM around 1855. It has the royal cypher of King Wilhelm the 4th on the back so it once belonged to him. Nice provenance :) It is handpainted with a superb center decoration of a basket filled with flowers on some grass with some larger roses rising up from it. Some butterflies around this and the rim has a ring of morning glories and a nice gold trim on it. The plate is in good condition with one spot on the rim has two ground down areas next to each other where chips once were and a partial chip still remains even after this attempt to hide them. Gilded over to hide it a bit better and the plate still displays nicely! The plate is 1 inch tall and 9.875 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter with the circular mark as well as the red orb and the royal cypher underneath plus the usual impressed and painters marks. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $799
