Kurland Leaf Dish

This is a very rare leaf dish made by KPM in the Kurland pattern in the later 18th century. No red orb mark as these were not used until much later. These types of dishes are very popular but one only finds the modern 20th century ones usually. I have never seen one this early and it is stunning! This is one of the best and most popular services even in the 20th century and a personal favorite of mine. The dish is decorated in the Decor 73 which has a nice hand painted floral arrangement in the center with three butterflies around it and the typical nice turquoise ground rim with raised garlands in gold with a nice gold trim to either side. A handle to one hand with gold highlight to it. The piece is in great condition with some wear to the gilding as one would expect from this sort of piece from this period. The handle is affected the most. One spot of paint flaking of the turquoise ground color which was colored in a bit to hide it pretty well. All in all is displays superbly and is a very rare survivor for this pattern! The piece is 1.5 inches tall (without the handle shich sticks up another 0.75 inches) , just under 9 inches long and 7.125 inches wide. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the usual impressed marks as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
