Fun Chamberstick

This is a superb chamberstick type candle holder made by KPM in the early 20th century during the Jugenstil / Art Nouveau period. Not a model one sees often! It is superbly modeled with a lady's head forming the handle, some nice scoll work around the edge highlighted with puce, light green and gilding. There are two floral arrangements and two smaller flowers hand painted on the top and off course the well painted head of a lady. Dark puce, light green and gold trim around the base of the candleholder part that comes out of the center. Some more of the same color scheme to the top of it. The entire piece is very reminiscent of the Weichmalerei they did during this period but the flowers here are not done in this style just the trim colors remind me of it. The piece is in superb condition with jsut one tiny spot of wear to the gilding. It displays perfectly. As nice as they come! The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb, an impressed letter P as the year code and a bunch of gilder's / painter's marks as shown. The candlestick is 2.625 inches tall, 6.75 inches from the head to the other end and 5.375 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
