Bohemian Waxwing Bird

This is a superb bird figurine either from the later 18th but I think more likely early 19th century and made by KPM in Berlin. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. I think this is a Bohemian Waxwing thanks to some helps to a fellow collector. A very well modeled and hand painted piece. Really a very nice figurine! The piece is in super condition with just a little wear and a manufacturing flaw on top of his beak by the tip (not later damage!). The figurine is 7.725 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. It is marked with the underglaze blue scepter mark underneath as shown. As is the norm on their early birds the name is incised in the back base but obscured by the glaze and paint but after searching a while online for a matching bird I do think it says Seidenschwanz (Waxwing)and that does seem to fit. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
