Blanc de Chine Malabar Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a Malabar made by KPM in the later 20th century. It is of an Asian gentleman playing the lute. A superbly modeled figure with lots o details standing on a square base with plants in relief to the top. The gentleman is wearing his traditional outfit of a flowing robe and a nice hat. This figurine was originally modeled by Elias Meier in 1777 and comes from the series Fremde Voelker (foreign peoples). The figure is in perfect condition! The figurine is 8.75 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter (first choice) as well as an impressed star mark as shown. A really nice figurine! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
