Marble Game Scene Tray

This is a platter or tray made by KPM in the late 18th century. I liked because of the scene - anything that shows how life was back then somehow speaks to me :) KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. The tray is handpainted with a round scene in the center in Sepia colors of two kids - a boy and a girl playing a game of marbles in a nice landscape setting. They are wearing nice clothes of the period and the scene is very detailed and of superb quality. Surrounded by a gold ring and the edge of the platter also has a gold trim. The dish is in good condition with a bit of gold wear and one chip to the edge which isn't too bad and would be an easy fix if need be. The piece is 1.375 inches tall, 13.125 inches wide and 10.375 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter with a blue line underneath as well as some impressed marks as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
