Really Nice Forgetmenots Flowers Cup & Saucer

This is a really superb cup and saucer made by KPM bwtween 1823 and 1832. The set has a nice shape to it with two rows of "pearl" trim - little white raised dots all around the top and bottom of a pink ground color trim with some nice gilding over it. The center of the saucer and the front of the cup have a panel of really nicely hand painted forget-me-not flowers on white ground surrounded by a tooled gold leaf trim. A simple gold ring around the edges and a superb snake shaped handle make this an amazing cup and saucer. The handle has the scales along the handleand the head is a matte gold with tooled details such as eyes. One of the nicest handles of this style I have come across. The inside top half of the cup is gilded as well. The set is in great condition with almost no wear at all but the saucer does have tow chips to mostly the underside rim which cannot be seen from above and they display perfectly! One of te chops is rather tiny while the other is larger but most of it has not broken out of the porcelain. It would be a quick fix for any restorer if need be! The cup is a bit over 3 inches tall plus the handle which sticks up about 1.25 inches and 3.5 inches in diameter without the handle. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 6.25 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the red eagle mark used before the red orb mark to denote pieces painted by KPM. Also an artist mark and the usual impressed marks as shown. A stunning set! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
